Typical prices for a custom-designed site from another web development company range from $2000 for a simple site to over $50,000 for something fancy. These other companies have numerous expenses such as equipment and employee salaries. I don't have such expenses, so I can provide you with a great site at a low price.

The following prices are approximate, but they should give you a good idea of how affordable my websites are.

As you can see, a simple, 5-page brochure-style website costs only about $700! To help put it in perspective, this website would cost about $1600, taking into account 3 hours of design (3-4 hours is typical), 6 pages, a password-protected client area powered by PHP and a database, and a custom logo.
